everything that you hear online doesn’t work the majority of the time

procrastination is one of the fastest method to ruin your life.

I’ve been there

every day. It feels the same, the same habit of planning things but never actually doing them.
this behavior does much more damage than you think

so let’s dive in to see how to overcome this new age problem.

In simple words

Procrastination is just avoiding the work that we said we would do, for no good reason.

ex- not doing your assignments on time, not doing the things that need to get done

Why is this bad?

most procrastinators suffer from depression, low self-belief, low self-confidence, and anxiety issues. vice versa

Why do we procrastinate?

This is your prefrontal cortex,
that's the part of your brain that sets long-term goals
and regulates self-control.

whenever we need to do the work it tells us that the work is so boring
so why do you want to do the work now when you can do more interesting things like scrolling Instagram, checking your messages etc.

we procrastinate because we always have a backdoor to escape.

These backdoors are more easily accessible because we don’t have any deadlines for the work we are about to do,


you must’ve noticed
we procrastinate more when we have one year to prepare for an exam
but we procrastinate less when we have 1 week left for the exams
why is this so?

simply because it’s easy for our brain to make excuses when we don’t have any good deadlines.

work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.

Here’s how you can overcome procrastination

  • Analyze the time left to do the task

  • set deadlines

  • eliminate more interesting things from your life

become so bored with the other things, your work becomes the most interesting thing to do and you’ll do it.

  • put your phone on DND or airplane mode

  • create an environment where the only thing you can do is work.

  • use website blockers for distractions

The key is to delete all the possible backdoors and you’ll find yourself doing the work that needs to get done.
